Nampa Lights Christmas Tree at Historic Train Depot

Downtown Nampa was packed with probably a thousand folks who braved the cold weather to watch thee lighting of the Christmas Tree on Saturday, November 24th! The beautiful Nampa Train Depot provided a nice backdrop for this magnificent tree.

Right off the bat, I'll say it was really cool that the downtown Nampa parking garage was free for this event. But that also meant the garage was jam packed... but still a nice perk for the tree lighting event! Luckily I found a parking spot right as someone was pulling out of their spot. That meant I was able to head down the street to catch the tree lighting on FB Live:

Santa Claus made an appearance at the tree lighting, riding in style in a cool fire engine! I could tell the kids enjoyed that quite a bit. The firefighters even gave kids a tour of the fire engine and let them crawl around inside. It was a nice little bonus.

The Nampa Fire Department gave Santa Claus a lift to the Christmas Tree lighting, Nov 24, 2018.
This community Christmas Tree is up and lit for the 2018 season. Feel free to check it out! If you look close enough, you can even see it while driving up 12th Ave/Hwy 45 heading towards the city center.
